Well folks, I'm headed back to Africa to embark on a new kind of journey. One that includes an actual hotel this time! This should be a new challenge for me since I am not use to having an itinerary that includes lavish hotels and excursions which will include visiting: Robben Island, Cape Point National Park, the Winelands (yeah!!), Cultural and Educational Centers, as well as indulging in the wonderful sights of the Southern Right Whales which should be calving during this time, oh and lets not forget seeing the Big 5 on Safari.
Although this may sound like a true vacation, there is work to be done folks. Our true purpose is to commemorate the life of Amy Biehl, a dedicated individual of social justice. The itinerary includes a performance at the Memorial Lecture as well as visiting the Amy Biehl Foundation after school program in the township where concerts will be held. Please visit http://www.amybiehl.org/ for more information on Amy Biehl's life and purpose.
Now I know you may be saying, "concert, what, you belong to a choir? I didn't know that." The answer is: no, I do not belong to a choir, I am traveling, with my Aunt Fran who is in Angel City Chorale, as a roadie! I could not pass up an opportunity such as this, especially considering the purpose. Yall know how I like to say yes to a new adventure. So here I go again :)
Enjoy,
Kelly
